When you attempt to activate Super Cruise when not on a compatible road, this "No Road Information" error will indeed display in the Driver Information Center and Super Cruise will not activate. It's certainly understandable why this would be frustrating, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. For awareness, Super Cruise map information is automatically updated periodically. Automatic updates via OnStar will occur on a quarterly basis to ensure the latest Super Cruise road availability is provided. Please make sure that your vehicle’s Wi-Fi hotspot is turned on to receive automatic updates via OnStar. Are you receiving certain messages on your dash when it becomes unavailable? For your awareness, the Super Cruise map for your EUV is limited compared to other vehicles. This map can be viewed here: https://www.chevrolet.com/technology/super-cruise. When it comes to your Sierra, there is a chance those sections of roads do not have map information available, your sensors are unable to see everything needed, or poor reception caused the signal to go out. If you notice a trend of when it goes out or are receiving a specific message on your dash, please let us know so that we can look into it further.
Yes--I understand that. Nearly all the time it goes out it will do it with the "No road information" message.
The point is not that I don't understand how Super Cruise works, or why it sometimes isn't available. It's that there's a major interstate that has been nearly complete for several years and 100% complete for a year with good cell coverage the entire way that hasn't been properly mapped by the Super Cruise/OnStar team. Frustratingly so that a tenth of mile might be mapped and the next tenth not. You can see some missing sections even on the map you linked.
The proper response would be:
"Yes--that's an interstate that 100% should work with OnStar. We will get with the team to make sure it's a priority to map it out and ensure it's working as soon as possible. We understand you are paying for the OnStar Super Cruise service and we want to meet your expectations that it will work as intended. Thank you for your support and owning two vehicles utilizing our Super Cruise technology."

So no action on your part...just deal with it and at some random time, hopefully, someone will update the map. Great! Glad I spent $101,000 on the truck and $46,000 on the Bolt to make sure I had Super Cruise that doesn't work on half the road I typically drive on...
