No Wifi, No Onstar, 2022 Silverado
I have had the same issue, 2022 Silverado 2500HD, system died last January over 36K 2 years 4 months. I am finding that there is a reason GM has one of the worst warranties, they know their trucks are going to start failing after 36K. As you said with as integrated as the onstar module is and laws where you can't pick phone up to dial anymore this is a very bad design and probably a Covid leftover of poor quality components. I was told that I needed to take to dealer to diagnose at $165.00 per hour with zero confidence I won't end up with 8hr charge just to diagnose. You would think they have computers to diagnose everything else in the vehicle but the dealership said they have no tool available to diagnose onstar system other than pressing the button which we do when call onstar. Loved the truck other than the failed onstar, awful ac from first purchase if temps are over 95 and leather seats have minor cracks and the truck is under three years. I guess all we can do is try to assist others from making the same mistake of buying pricey vehicles that don't hold up.
Finally have the onstar issue resolved after a few hundred bucks and constantly calling in to complain. Finally got a tech on the line who was able to reset it and make it work. Now my AC has the same issue as yours. I was told that the system has to be flushed out. Apparently, it has some new "eco friendly" freon and I'll have to pay $2k to get it done. So now I don't drive the vehicle when temps are above 90. AC works great in 75-80 degree weather. Transmission jerks when you switch from D to R and vice versa. Of course, they can "look" at it but I'll have to pay 4-6hr diagnostic time. Im definitely gonna have to do my research before I buy my next truck.
