Can’t add owner acct to my family plan

Thank you for reaching out and being a valued OnStar Member, Martin. If prompted to link an OnStar Account after accepting the email invite to accept Family Sharing, please select the "Skip Linking" option. Do not try to link the account using the Account Owner's credentials, as this will result in the Account Owner being sent an email that the family member is trying to link the Account Owner's OnStar Account to the Family Member's email. Please let us know here if you continue to have difficulty, and we are more than willing to continue assisting you further.
This would be nice, if it worked. But it doesn't. My wife got the email, which conveniently is the last step shown here. When she clicks to accept the invite, she's taken to the myChevrolet app which asks for her OnStar account.

I don't know why this is marked as "solution", since it doesn't solve anything.
If prompted to link an OnStar Account after accepting the email invite to accept Family Sharing, please select the "Skip Linking" option.
There's no "skip linking" option. There doesn't seem to be any way to get out of OnStar account page.
