2025 Buick Enclave - Connect to External HotSpot, will Onstar work?

I am extremely mad that my brand new car, which I specifically bought for our long drive across country no longer has functioning OnStar.   I bought this car because of all the safety features for the long drive because my son is autistic, and I want him to be able to just push the SOS button and ask for help and not have to know where he is.  Onstar could just find him.   But now I have apparently been caught in the issue that is happening with the telemetry/onstar module failing and there is no replacements that are available.   Again, I am beyond mad.  It's been in the shop a week, and there is nothing they can do.   

At this point I am trying to look for a work around.   If I get a external mobile hotspot and hook the car to it, will the On Star work via that hotspot, so if my son needs help he can get it.

    Was there ever a resolution to this?  My 2025 enclave has OnStar and supposedly a WiFi hotspot.  None of it works and the dealer can’t find anything wrong.

      It’s likely the Onstar Telematics Module. They are having problems with at least 5 different models the I have read so far. Nether Onstar or navigation work at all. Most people are told the part is on back order. I was told this to in addition they said they have no idea when to expect the part. They said possibly months out. I have been in contact with GM Buick cares and they are not coming up with anything promising for timeline as of yet. They seem to have no problem selling the cars to us but when something like this happens it seems to be taking way too long in my opinion. I think it’s time everyone make calls to there state’s attorney General offices to file a complaint.  They should have had a recall on these seeing it’s effecting so many models and people. I’m extremely disappointed in GM to say the least.

    Yes please send private messages to them. They do t like people posting all these problems in open forum because it’s not good for business.  TO BAD !!!
