2026 Tahoe Premier Infotainment Suddenly Lost All Apps – No OnStar, Wi-Fi, or Google Services
Hi everyone, I have a 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier, and recently my infotainment system suddenly changed to a very basic screen. Almost all apps disappeared without warning. Current issues: • No apps available (Maps, Google apps, Play Store, etc.) • OnStar is not showing at all • No Wi-Fi or network connectivity option in Settings • Screen only shows basic functions like radio and limited settings • System feels completely offline or like connected services stopped working What confuses me is that my Tahoe Premier does not have an OnStar button, so I’m unsure whether this is normal for some models or if something is wrong with the system. I already tried restarting the vehicle, but the issue is still there. Questions: • Has anyone else experienced this on a 2026 Tahoe Premier? • Is this a software/system issue or connected services problem? • Did a dealership software update or reprogramming fix it? • Is there any way to restore the apps and internet connectivity? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!0likes1CommentWhy didn't my alarm go off?
I have a 2016 Camaro SS, and we got hit with a major storm last night. A branch must have weighed 1000 lbs. broke off and landed on the roof and smashed the rear window. It took 3 guys to lift it off. We didn't get a phone alert, and the alarm didn't go off. We pay for theft protection. If someone just shakes the car to try to get in, or a door is ajar, we have been alerted in the past. How can we tell if the alarm system is really hooked up and working? The dealer recently installed a new engine, do you think that they may have shut off the sensors, and forgot to turn them back on?0likes1CommentRemote Command Only
Can OnStar create a Remote Command Only plan that is complimentary to all owners? FordPass is a similar feature that Ford Motor Company provides to their owners free of charge. For all of us owners with the NG1 system that is no longer supported, the Remote Command feature is the only feature that still works at the lowest level of plans, as paying $15 per month to only be able to remotely lock/unlock/start our vehicles is not worth the cost.0likes1CommentTahoe Premier 2025 screen has become very basic
I have a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier, and my vehicle does not have an OnStar button at all. Recently, the infotainment screen has become very basic and all apps have disappeared. Symptoms: •No apps available (no maps, no Google apps, etc.) •OnStar is not showing at all •No WiFi or network connection option in settings •The screen only shows basic functions (radio + basic settings) Current status: The system seems completely offline or like connected services are disabled. Questions: •Is this normal for some models that don’t have OnStar? •Or is this a system issue? •Does it require a software update or reprogramming at the dealership? Also: How can I restore the apps or enable internet connectivity?0likes3CommentsCarPlay steering wheel controls
The forward and backward track buttons on the steering wheel work normally when a CarPlay session first starts. After some driving they stop responding. Skipping tracks does nothing from the wheel. Volume control on the wheel still works, and the buttons work fine for native audio sources, so this is isolated to the CarPlay session. The common advice is to switch to Bluetooth and back to wireless CarPlay. That doesn’t hold up in real use. I don’t notice the buttons have stopped until I’m already driving, and I can’t reconnect the phone safely while the car is moving. So the fix only works if I pull over and stop, which defeats the purpose of having controls on the wheel. This needs a real fix, not a manual reconnect. Is this a known issue with a software fix? If there’s an infotainment update that addresses the CarPlay media control handoff, I’d like to get it applied. If a service visit is needed, let me know. I have a 2023 Buick Encore and when I purchased my vehicle thought I had onstar for a limited time, or so I was told. Thought it was for three years. Yesterday my onstar system started talking to me saying something like “onstar is on” or something like that. It has never done that since I’ve had the car. I checked on “my Buick app” and it says I have onstar for free until 2033 and I have no idea how I have that. I was told it was free for limited time then I’d have to purchase a plan after free on expired. My questions are… How can I find out which plan I have? Why would my onstar just start speaking to me without being prompted? Could someone else have updated and paid for additional service and how would I find that out? Thank you0likes1CommentJust some honest feedback
My truck came with three years of everything Onstar service. I got my offer to renew and I totally would…except…the service so frequently has problems that I feels like I’d be setting my money on fire. At least half the time, I have interruptions and terrible coverage. The assistant so frequently says it cant do what I ask or that it doesnt understand the request that it makes me angry more than it helps. I feel bad for people that don’t have access to carplay and android auto. every blue moon i think, “this service is pretty cool, maybe I’ll pay for it for another year” and then it reminds me on the very next drive how spotty the service is and how buggy the software is. On top of that, taking five minutes to fire up directions everytime I want to navigate somewhere is a deal breaker when my carplay is ready to navigate immediately. This feedback needs to get back to the execs because I want so badly for it to work and would totally pay if it worked as advertised.0likes1Comment
