OnStar Red Light - 2025 Silverado - 3 Weeks Old
Title says it all - purchased a brand new 2025 Silverado 3 weeks ago…the OnStar light turned red 16 days after we purchased the truck. Called OnStar and the diagnostic test came back with 2 error codes - U1008 & B1B2F. I’m not sure what the issue is, as the dealer is contradicting the diagnostic report. I’ve need researching online and see a couple of service bulletins referring this issue from years ago. I am not really sure what to make of it - as I’m coming over from a Ford that had a flawless infotainment system. This just seems a bit excessive for a system that’s not “brand new” - installed on a vehicle with less than 2k miles. Reading thru all the posts across the internet - this appears to be quite common - which is something that’s acceptable in a newly launched platform; not something that’s been around for multiple years.On-Star Telmetric Module Failed
I bought my 2023 Chevy Tahoe brand new in 2022. On-star Module Failed a week ago. Dealership said my extended warranty did not cover it. Part is back-ordered with no ETA. They made me pay for the part before they'd even order it. From what I've read this is a widespread problem that chevy and on-star have known about. I very angry because the whole reason I bought this car was for the entertainment package that no longer works. From also what I've read it could be months before it comes in if it comes in at all. I have a 2025 Escalade. The streaming services worked for the first few months then stopped working one day. I have called on star a dozen times and nothing has happened. The internet works but not the streaming services. When I click YouTube it says “Application is currently unavailable”. Customer support never calls back, I call every few days and am told they are escalating it or working on it.Onstar module
Onstar Module needs to be covered by GM , we all payed a pretty penny for our vehicles and for half the features to suddenly fail is not acceptable to me. The. You want to slap us in the face and make us pay for a crappy component when you probably knew about the problem before the vehicles left the factory. I purchased a new '25 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate about a month ago. At about 900 miles I got a 'Service Driver Assist' message every time I started the truck, and the Supercruise function would not work. The light adjacent to the OnStar button was also red. Everything else was working fine. Then after a few days, the OnStar suddenly light turned green again and Supercruise was fine again, no more Service Driver Assist message. Thought I was in the clear but suddenly today the red light and the error message is back, no Supercruise. I assume a hardware issue but if the module was dead would it work intermittently like this? Frustrating as this is an $85k truck and these features were a key factor in my purchase decision.Onstar stopped working
I'm writing to report an issue with my OnStar service in my 2022 GMC Yukon SLE. When my vehicle was parked, I attempted to locate it using the OnStar app, but the service wasn't working. Upon starting the engine, I noticed the OnStar green light was not illuminated inside the vehicle. When I contacted OnStar support, they suggested it might be a hardware issue. However, I've noticed this problem seems to be widespread. I kindly request that you investigate this matter further to resolve the issue. Purchased this Buick the 1st of Jan 2025 and the location alerts were working to notify my cell phone until Jan 30, 2025. After that it stopped working. Just had the vehicle serviced at a GM dealership and they updated all of the code for the radio and navigation and it still doesn't work. I purchased a Cadillac Escalade IQ on 30 August and 11 days later we still do not have any functioning OnStar, which prevents us from being able to use the adaptive cruise, any of the entertainment system, the onboard Wi-Fi and other features. I’ve called repeatedly to seek support and the only boy thing that know for sure is that you can’t seem to ping the vehicle and I have to wait 3-5 days every time I call. This is absurd and unacceptable. When is tech support going to contact me??? When will you replace the onstar module? I feel you’ve left me completely out n the dark. This is supposed to be the flagship product. I’m on three case numbers now and no results and no contact from OnStar. WTH?OnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
my 2025 Equinox EV (4000 miles) also has a failed Telematics module (as of 2.1.25) with a "backorder" status and dealer has no idea when it'll be in. Not only does it affect OnStar, but gps/maps/charger near you dont work either. You have to guess and figure it out manually. The car thinks I'm hundreds of miles from where I actually am and doesn't change location. This is unacceptable in any vehicle, but especially an EV which relies on the information to travel
