Weather Channel app not working
I‘m subscribed to the OnStar Preferred Plan. The other day I tried to access the weather channel app. I get this message “The weather channel app for Android Auto is being discontinued “. I do not use android auto. I called OnStar yesterday and was told there is a glitch in the Access app part of my subscription. They transferred me to the loyalty dept. They removed the plan from my account and added it back. That did not resolve the problem. I called back this morning and spoke to the same person in the loyalty dept. She transferred me to the Connection Center. They couldn’t help me after having me force stop the app. They opened a ticket to have Tech Support contact me. Can someone look at the notes that each department took and what they did at their end and had me do to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.jmgood386 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II302Views1like8CommentsOnStar Module Failure - software recall?
My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved? I am paying for something that is not functional....100Views0likes3CommentsOnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
my 2025 Equinox EV (4000 miles) also has a failed Telematics module (as of 2.1.25) with a "backorder" status and dealer has no idea when it'll be in. Not only does it affect OnStar, but gps/maps/charger near you dont work either. You have to guess and figure it out manually. The car thinks I'm hundreds of miles from where I actually am and doesn't change location. This is unacceptable in any vehicle, but especially an EV which relies on the information to travelrtHoney10 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II522Views1like13CommentsOnStar Module Failure
My 2022 Silverado has a failed OnStar (Telematic?) module. The dealer diagnostics alone was over $300, only to tell me the module had failed. I've prepaid for the part, with no idea how long it will take to arrive. There will be additional labor cost to complete replacement. I read about numerous others in this forum with the same issue, suggesting that this part is likely defective. What can I do?12Views0likes0CommentsRecall/Class Action on Onstar Module ??
I join the many who have to have their Onstar module replaced. 2023 Yukon. No ETA from GMC on this backordered part. Time for a recall and/or Class Action! I cannot believe the number of people with the same issue! Has anyone's module come in yet?167Views2likes5CommentsOnstar Module failed 200miles into ownership
We just bought a brand new, 2025 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate and this morning, a few hundred miles into ownership, the module failed. What a terrible experience. Six figure vehicle and we cannot use several features two days into ownership. Absolutely unacceptable. No supercruise, gps, internet, remote capabilities, nothing. We immediately called our gmc dealer and they placed the order for the telematics module but just like several other owners have experienced, its back ordered. Extremely frustrating experience83Views0likes4Comments- 1.6KViews0likes3Comments
2024 Chevy Equinox EV - don't take the SW update
Was always nervous about taking ownership of a GM car. I did because car was so much different then any other GM I had been in. The first few months were really proving me wrong, great car ........ but I spent my hard earn money on a car that after a software update, it can't call AllStar, use navigation, Google Assistance doesn't assist, mobile app never responds (worse then normal). I did hours of investigation by my self, I did the phone button down items both as a reboot and a factory reset, neither works. I reached out to OnStar 4 different times. First time they made me call a different number b/c they couldn't help me beyond what I already did. The second phone call had me hit the OnStar button that hung up the call. The third was decent person and realized my analysis was more thorough then her support pages and said she would connect me to level 2 support ..... they never came on the phone but told the primary support to tell me "we did a ping to your car, it will work in 2 hours". Attempt 4, sorry can't help, call this number. Mind you, every time I called, they have no record of what was previously done and you have to go through the same shenanigans each time. Who better to hold accountable than the dealership right? Go back to the service desk and you get, "we can't help you with that, you need to make an appointment for it to be diagnosed". $$$$. Didn't even listen to the fact that I have diagnosed 80% of the problem. Spoke to sales manager hoping he realized that less than 6 months of having the car, they are begging me to bring the car in to rotate the tires but they won't help make thing right. I might get a call next business day, we will see how much the sales manager follows through. I am mostly confident it is the TPM that messed up after the upgrade and that I am going to fork out the $$$ to get it replaced. The only thing I am not sure of is if I can do this myself. If this wasn't an expensive vehicle, this experience alone would have result it the car being in the bottom of a pond. GM, Dealerships, OnStar don't work together. Recommendation, don't do the software update (note: March 2025 Equinox EV)85Views2likes4Comments
