Onstar Module failed 200miles into ownership
We just bought a brand new, 2025 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate and this morning, a few hundred miles into ownership, the module failed. What a terrible experience. Six figure vehicle and we cannot use several features two days into ownership. Absolutely unacceptable. No supercruise, gps, internet, remote capabilities, nothing. We immediately called our gmc dealer and they placed the order for the telematics module but just like several other owners have experienced, its back ordered. Bring back a weather app
Like so many others, my 2023 Denali lost the Weather App without warning. At the initial setup of the admin profile for my 2023 GMC Sierra, I went with the security pattern option and made my mobile phone and trusted device. Aside from some Bluetooth issues it worked okay until there was a problem with the My GMC app crashing for 2 days. When I was finally able to access the app I discovered that my mobile phone was no longer a trusted device and that I could not get access to the infotainment system. I had used my phone as a trusted device for so long that I had forgotten the pattern I had used. I spoke to a couple of people with OnStar and all they could offer was to set up a new user profile and disregard the admin profile. This is not a good fix. Although I can use some of the features, many of the permissions granted to the admin are lost. This was not allow me to manage other user profiles and I am essentially a teen driver with limited capabilities. There has got to be a way to reset the infotainment system to factory settings whereas an admin profile can be set up again, or some backdoor in the programming that would give one access to an existing admin profile. I understand that there are security concerns for everyone who owns a GM vehicle, but there has to be some mechanism built in to reset everything. I assume that this is not a singular issue. I'd like to have the full functionality of my truck. My vehicle status in the Buick app hasn’t updated for 4 weeks. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I made sure my phone iOS is up to date. Restarted the phone. Nothing has helped. Remote commands from app still work.Solved1.8KViews1like4CommentsOnstar Not showing
Hello, I recently purchased a 2022 Buick Encore GX. I have call Onstar 4 times about my account saying “Onstar and Connected Services are not active” yet when I call, they say I do have an active plan. It also isn’t showing up on the “My Buick” app. Can anyone help me on how to deal with this? Every time I call, the representative I seem to get is very rude and not interested in what I have to say. Hello, just bought a new Yukon 2025, I have the streaming package but I can’t use the rear entertainment due to it saying that I need to purchase in vehicle streaming (which I have). My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved?
