CarPlay inoperable with new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro MAX
I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 with the dramax. I just purchased a brand new iPhone 17 pro a week and a half ago. Since day one when I plug the phone into the USB-C and the USB-A port the phone charges and connects to Apple CarPlay like normal. However after approximately 5-7 minutes the phone disconnects from CarPlay but stays charging. I have tried all ports in the vehicle to include the ones in the center console. All have the same issue. I disconnect the cord and replicate it in and it connects to CarPlay again then quickly disconnects. Yes I am using apple cords, 3 different ones from the Apple Store, and have also tried an aftermarket Anker cord as well (40watts which is what the iPhone requires) I am coming from an iPhone 14 Pro Max and it worked without issues. My wife’s iPhone 14 Pro Max still works without all ports plugged in without issues. My work phone (iPhone 12) works with CarPlay without issues in all ports as well. I have contacted Apple support and send them numerous screenshots and screenshots recordings of the issue and they do not know what’s going on. I have tried the new phone (iPhone 17 Pro) in my wife’s 2021 Subaru Ascent and it works no problem. I truly believe this is just a simple update from GMC or OnStar (whoever is responsible for updating the infotainment center). I have already checked for updates and my truck is currently up to date. Can someone please shed some light on this. Thank you for the help.716Views0likes8CommentsOnStar Module Failure - software recall?
My 2022 Chevy Suburban Z71 OnStar Telematics Module likely failed. I took it into a local dealership in January due to the software recall. I explained to the service department that I had not been able to use the App to access vehicle info, start it remotely, access wifi, etc... since Nov 29, 2024. The service tech told me that the new software update should fix the problem. I had read about the telematics problem and called the service department prior to bringing my car in and the mechanic explained he would take a look at it. When the car was ready, I tried to access use the app and it still did not connect. The tech told me that I likely had to give the software some time to work itself out:). I'm in software and knew this was a load of BS. I asked him to bring the car back into the mechanic and he said I had to make another appointment and come back. So, my question is, what about the lack of access and I am still paying for wifi and OnStar. Can any credit be given retroactively and cancel or put this on hold until the issue is resolved? I am paying for something that is not functional....1.5KViews2likes14Comments2025 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate No Super cruise or OnStar
This is my 8th GMC Sierra. I have a had excellent service out of these trucks until recently. I Bought a brand new 2023 Sierra Ultimate that is used for pleasurer now and my yearly commute to Florida and had no issues with the truck and then they had 6.2 recall that could leave one stranded. So instead of taking a chance on the issues with 6.2, I traded the 12,000 mile Ultimate in on a 2025 Ultimate. The new truck has 1000 miles it and as I am getting ready for my annual trip to Florida, I then get the Service Driver Assist System on my DIC. No Super cruise or OnStar. I bought the Ultimate to have this feature for my annual drive down south as it does relieve a lot of stress for this long 2 day drive. I am totally discussed with this issue for an 85K vehicle. I will contact the local Dealership but I do not anticipate they can get it in and repaired in 3 days before I leave.27Views0likes1CommentOnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
my 2025 Equinox EV (4000 miles) also has a failed Telematics module (as of 2.1.25) with a "backorder" status and dealer has no idea when it'll be in. Not only does it affect OnStar, but gps/maps/charger near you dont work either. You have to guess and figure it out manually. The car thinks I'm hundreds of miles from where I actually am and doesn't change location. This is unacceptable in any vehicle, but especially an EV which relies on the information to travelrtHoney8 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II2.3KViews4likes38Comments2025 equinox ev- OnStar Telematics module - no dates for backorder part is unacceptable
I recently bought equinox ev 2025. In 5th month of use, telematics system stopped working. Dealership mentioned that part is nationwide back ordered with no estimated date. And i saw on many portals where same issue has raised by many car owners. Is this normal to have this part back ordered with no estimated date. And if GM knows the problem with this part, why are they selling such cars. Is there a way to raise this concern with any federal department?Meetmerahul14 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor1.2KViews1like22CommentsNo internet connection! Help!
I can connect to my wifi but there is no internet connection. Onstar has pushed updates, reconfigured what they could, and said to go to the dealership. The dealership said everything is good on their side so it’s an onstar issue. I’ve also tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect with no luck. Are there any other tips I can try?? Thank you!179KViews13likes33CommentsTelematic Control Module needs replacement, but backordered with no ETA?! UNACCEPTABLE
My 2024 Equinox EV 2RS (Purchased brand new in November '24, only 1,568 miles on to-date) is now in the dealership for the third time due to what was thought to be a 12v battery problem. Turns out, it was a faulty Telematic Control Module that needs replacing, and the dealership that's working on it says GM has no timetable/ETA for the part?! The amount of posts on here reflecting how frequently this is happening should make GM want to have THOUSANDS of these parts on hand for immediate deployment, not arbitrarily informing dealerships, "There's no ETA." I'm a new mom and back to work for the first time since giving birth in October, and being unable to count on a vehicle to simply work is beyond defeating.jamiekmiller6183 days agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor3.2KViews6likes54CommentsNew Telematics Module, No Internet
2025 Equinox EV RS Loss of GPS 3 weeks at the dealership to replace the telematics module Returned to me with error message “upgraded OnStar plan required”. When I view plans, it says, Congrats, you have what you need! Multiple calls to OnStar, no resolution. Found one post that blames July software upgrade and mentions potential patch, but I haven’t been successful in reaching anyone at OnStar with any technical knowledge; they just want to sell me a data plan.25Views0likes1CommentVehicle Status wont connect

I bought my 2023 Chevy Tahoe brand new in 2022. On-star Module Failed a week ago. Dealership said my extended warranty did not cover it. Part is back-ordered with no ETA. They made me pay for the part before they'd even order it. From what I've read this is a widespread problem that chevy and on-star have known about. I very angry because the whole reason I bought this car was for the entertainment package that no longer works. From also what I've read it could be months before it comes in if it comes in at all. Something needs to be done.stbelyeu6 days agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II516Views5likes18Comments
