Telematic module is out
I recently bought a 2023 GMC acadia slt, we bought this one because it came with 3 years of onstar and wifi. Not the only reason we purchased this one, but it was a major factor. Anyway we have had this vehicle since 3 days before Thanksgiving. And the telematic module is out and we can't use any of the features, even the sos doesn't work. It seems as if this is a common malfunction so why hasn't it been recalled? Why should we have to pay to fix something on a year old vehicle? My mistake was not buying it from a gm dealer so I am basically SOL. I want my onstar, my navigation and the wifi i was promised when I bought a 30000 thousand dollar vehicle that these features were included. If the part isn't available how are we to fix it? When are they expected to be in stock? Why isn't this covered longer than the 36000 mile warranty? If someone's vehicle has over that on it. My OnStar stopped working 6 days ago! I called OnStar support since this is the 3rd time this happens! The first time they were able to trouble shoot the second time it fixed itself. Now this is the 3rd time and the OnStar button is green. I called and they told me the signal was not being received by my vehicle. They tried for over an hour. Even had me go into settings which didn’t work. Now they say I have to go to the dealership to see if they can figure it out! They said my unit might need to be replaced but how!! Hello, my car is not responding to the remote signal to turn the vehicle on, or even schedule services. I've already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it without success. Also, the hotspot is not working or even lets me switch the on/off button manually. As an early buyer of the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV, I had high hopes. I believed in GM’s vision for the future of electric vehicles. But my ownership experience has been marred by ongoing support issues that I feel compelled to share for the benefit of other EV owners and prospective buyers. Shortly after taking delivery, I discovered that I couldn’t access Tesla’s Supercharger network—something GM advertised as a key convenience—because the required adapter wasn’t available. Even GM itself couldn’t source it for weeks. Eventually, I received one, but only after significant inconvenience and lost travel flexibility. More troubling is the issue I face today: a failed Telematics Control Module, which has disabled my OnStar system and cut off access to over-the-air (OTA) updates. That means my Blazer may not receive important software improvements or even safety-related patches unless I manually bring it into a dealership—something I was told would be handled automatically when I purchased the vehicle. There’s no ETA on the part. The dealership, sympathetic as they are, admitted that many GM parts are backordered and hard to obtain. They even encouraged me and others to reach out to GM directly—something I’ve now done repeatedly. Through it all, my Senior Executive Resolution Liaison, Amira, has been incredibly helpful. She responds promptly, remains professional, and has shown genuine concern for resolving the issue. But even she is hitting brick walls. I truly don’t know how she does her job every day without the tools she needs. Frankly, GM should be paying people like her double. Good Morning, I recently bought a used 2017 Yukon and I am having issues with the app not updating. I checked my location on it yesterday morning and it said my Yukon was in Austin Texas and I live about 3 hours from there. The mileage it shows on the app is off, fuel level is off. The start/unlock/lock buttons work. When i go to the wifi settings of available networks it shows the info of the yukons wifi but doesnt have the green signal bars lit up. When i search for the wifi on my phone or laptop it doesnt show up. When i try to connect to my home wifi network with the yukon it tries to connect but then it shows failed. I have contacted Tech Support about this issue and the walked me through a few things and my app updated but reverted to the wrong info. I had to have XM send a refresh signal to my system for it to work. The techs I spoke to have a set way to troubleshoot and say they cant help any further and then tell me they will escalate it further up the ladder, but have yet to hear anything. I have tried updating the syatem but it tells me to insert a usb dongle in it. Cant get OTA updates because no internet.... I have had Ford connect for 4 years and not 1 problem. 4 days in with OnStar and this happens. Just bought this car haven’t even drove it a day and the battery was dead or appeared to be it’s the onstar module I have a rental car now but the onstar was draining the battery. I see some posts from a few months ago about this issue. My 2025 Sierra EV Telematics module failed on Dec 2, confirmed by the dealer on Dec 12, but no replacement available’ on backorder’. hello, recently my car sat for 2 weeks while I traveled. When I returned to my car, my navigation was offline. This resolved itself after a few hours but my car was not connecting to my app. Initially I was able to get my car to set climate remotely but the app would error saying that it was unable to communicate with the car. That resolved after a few days. The only persistent issue is that my charging level will no longer update. The car is currently charged to 80% but the app says 52% which is what the leve was the day I got back from vacation and drove it. By the end of the day it was at 52%. I have reinstalled the app, I have power cycled the phone and the car. I have driven multiple times after. I have connected it to WiFi…. Nothing addresses the problem. I have also had it check for software updates and it comes back with no updates. last update installed GM 653.40, android version 12, Android patch level December 5 2024 how can I fix this?12Views0likes2Comments
