No internet connection! Help!
I can connect to my wifi but there is no internet connection. Onstar has pushed updates, reconfigured what they could, and said to go to the dealership. The dealership said everything is good on their side so it’s an onstar issue. I’ve also tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect with no luck. Are there any other tips I can try?? My 2024 Equinox EV 2RS (Purchased brand new in November '24, only 1,568 miles on to-date) is now in the dealership for the third time due to what was thought to be a 12v battery problem. Turns out, it was a faulty Telematic Control Module that needs replacing, and the dealership that's working on it says GM has no timetable/ETA for the part?! The amount of posts on here reflecting how frequently this is happening should make GM want to have THOUSANDS of these parts on hand for immediate deployment, not arbitrarily informing dealerships, "There's no ETA." I recently bought equinox ev 2025. In 5th month of use, telematics system stopped working. Dealership mentioned that part is nationwide back ordered with no estimated date. And i saw on many portals where same issue has raised by many car owners. Is this normal to have this part back ordered with no estimated date. And if GM knows the problem with this part, why are they selling such cars. 2025 Equinox EV RS Loss of GPS 3 weeks at the dealership to replace the telematics module Returned to me with error message “upgraded OnStar plan required”. When I view plans, it says, Congrats, you have what you need! Multiple calls to OnStar, no resolution. I have a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 with the dramax. I just purchased a brand new iPhone 17 pro a week and a half ago. Since day one when I plug the phone into the USB-C and the USB-A port the phone charges and connects to Apple CarPlay like normal. However after approximately 5-7 minutes the phone disconnects from CarPlay but stays charging. I have tried all ports in the vehicle to include the ones in the center console. All have the same issue. I disconnect the cord and replicate it in and it connects to CarPlay again then quickly disconnects. Yes I am using apple cords, 3 different ones from the Apple Store, and have also tried an aftermarket Anker cord as well (40watts which is what the iPhone requires) I am coming from an iPhone 14 Pro Max and it worked without issues. My wife’s iPhone 14 Pro Max still works without all ports plugged in without issues. My work phone (iPhone 12) works with CarPlay without issues in all ports as well. I have contacted Apple support and send them numerous screenshots and screenshots recordings of the issue and they do not know what’s going on. I have tried the new phone (iPhone 17 Pro) in my wife’s 2021 Subaru Ascent and it works no problem. I truly believe this is just a simple update from GMC or OnStar (whoever is responsible for updating the infotainment center). I have already checked for updates and my truck is currently up to date. I bought my 2023 Chevy Tahoe brand new in 2022. On-star Module Failed a week ago. Dealership said my extended warranty did not cover it. Part is back-ordered with no ETA. They made me pay for the part before they'd even order it. From what I've read this is a widespread problem that chevy and on-star have known about. I very angry because the whole reason I bought this car was for the entertainment package that no longer works. From also what I've read it could be months before it comes in if it comes in at all. Bought my LTZ brand new back in 2019. I had the OnStar service until a few months ago. I canceled it because I was selling my Silverado but the sale flopped. Called OnStar a few days ago and reactivated the account. I was told it would take a couple of days to get it working on my phone. It is not working. I Called back today and spoke with THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE and the last one said I would get an email or call back 3 to 5 days from today. This was the troubleshooting: 1- Deleted the vehicle like 9 times and tried re-adding it by scanning the VIN, manually entering the VIN, by email and by phone. IT FAILED EVERY TIME though I could see my account was active on the truck's settings. 2- When to Settings on my iphone and offloaded the app and deleted it THREE times. Added the app again and tried the vehicle again and it failed. 3- Tried using the Chrome browser on my iphone to login and adding the vehicle but it also failed to add by VIN, phone and email. 4- I reset my truck's settings to factory default. Connected to my WiFi with excellent strength. 4 bars on my iphone cell signal. Added my account again, checked that the OnStar account settings were correct on the trucks settings. 5- I even tried adding the truck using my laptop and I get the same error every time "Something went wrong. I have a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali that I had to take in for a dealer for them to tell me the OnStar Module needed replaced. My vehicle is over the 36,000 miles so they quoted me close to $750 to fix it. This $80k truck is only a year and a half old! Mileage should have nothing to do with this part. How is this not something that is covered by GM and/or OnStar? Only happens if I have a current navigation. For example, if I set my destination to "home", I would either use the screen or my voice control on the steering to activate Alexa and say I wanted to say, but it only make you hear the prompt and hanged up right away before you could say anything else. It would go back to normal if Maps+ is in the background or stop current destination. Here is what I have: Current full plan with additional 11gb plan. Here is what I have tried so far: Went to dealership. They say its just the software and they cannot guarantee if replacing the radio system would work from York Team. Uninstalled/Reinstalled Maps+ Used to be able to delete Alexa but not anymore after seeing the dealership for software updates Forced stop Maps+ / Alexa and it does not work Signed in and out Alexa went back to work if Maps+ is in the background or I use the built in navigation only.
