WiFi Hotspot - No Internet
I have a 2025 Tahoe with a OnStar One Super Cruise Plan with Connected Plus Unlimited Data Plan. My head unit and Rear Seat Entertainment all have data. However, when you connect a phone or tablet to the in-vehicle hot spot I get no data. The connected devices complain there is no Internet on the hot spot. Any ideas? I have seen similar complaints on Reddit for these 2025 GM vehicles.JWPappas10 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II165Views1like10CommentsBring back the weather app!
I discovered yesterday that the Weather Channel app has been discontinued. I'm not happy about this! I use this app constantly. It's really the only add on app that I use in the car. I love it when I'm driving long distances alone and I need to check the weather. It's so much safer to look at the radar quickly on the screen vs trying to pull it up on my phone while I'm driving. I live in the Midwest and the weather can change quickly, especially in the spring and summer. OnStar is about being safe in your vehicle. I can't think of any apps that they offer that are more important to safety than the weather app. Please bring it back! I will definitely pay a little extra to have the app. It's important to me and my safety! I called OnStar yesterday to let them know my concerns about this decision. I hope they decide to bring it back!4.1KViews64likes83CommentsOver 900 on backorder; no ETA
Per my dealer, there are over 900 communication modules on backorder in the system with no ETA as to when they will be available. Don’t know if that is just for Chevy, or if it involves other brands also. I am in my fifth month and truly frustrated. Is over 900 waiting not enough to warrant GM to do something? Perhaps if they put as much effort into fixing this as they do in sending me renewal emails (my plan expired last month), they might make some progress. What do others think? Has anyone been offered any “compensation” for their trouble? My rep told me in an email that once fixed could discuss; but that seems like just a tactic to pacify me in hopes that I will go away. They sold me features and services that I couldn’t/can’t use. There should be some restitution for that. A year of free service? I am thinking at a minimum for every month it is down, there should be 2 months of credit; but honestly that may not be enough to keep my goodwill as a customer for over 40 years. What do others think? Am I being greedy or does that seem reasonable?MCombs20 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor II46Views0likes7CommentsTelematic Module
I am hoping this gets resolved quickly. We are moving across country, near 3000 miles away in 30 days. Now our truck is stuck at the dealership with this part not able to be replaced and on back order. Our home is sold, we need to leave without a vehicle. What the hell??? Apparently our 2022 Silverado 4×4 Z71 is not driveable at all. It is affecting all the lights on the dashboard and the power steering is hard to turn. Had to leave it there. We have case with GM started but this is costing us Money$$$$$$ just like everyone else with this issue. We paid way over $60,000 to have a truck fail with 40 thousand miles on it. I feel bad for everyone with this problem. PLEASE BE COGNIZANT GM AND DO RIGHT BY US PATRONS WHO HAVE HAD FAITH BY BUYING CHEVY PRODUCTS!!!9Views0likes1Commentclass action lawsuit OnStar module backorder

I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500RST I updated the app today on my iPhone which has the most recent iOS. When I use the app to remotely start my vehicle it no longer allows me to see or set my preferred temperature. 🤒 have restarted my phone and also saw a post recommending that you go to controller la within the app and select vehicle settings to turn on the option to remotely set the temperature. It shows o have an unlimited data plan, allow hotspot access is on and it shows my WiFi name and password. Nothing about setting temperature. The temperature option was available before the update. please advise. thank you so much!55Views0likes4CommentsAdvisor_Jack
Dear Jack, Thank you for your email dated May 22 2025. However, I do not own a 2022 GMC Yukon XL with a broken OnStar module. Rather I own a 2012 Chevy Equinox and recently had my ONSTAR module replaced by CAPITAL GMC BUICK here in Edmonton after my previous dealership advised me that the module for my vehicle had been discontinued. The installation happened about a week ago after I took the liberty in contacting York Electronics, the General Motors authorized Electronics Service Center in Canada for automobile. In contacting YE I discovered that the module was not discontinued but rather replaced with a different part number. However, since having the module replaced, and after being told that all I had to do was call OnStar, as the system is in demonstration mode, to reactivate my account I have been told numerous times by OnStar tech advisors there’s an error at their end in connecting the new module. My case number was escalated and I was told someone would contact me. I did receive a call on May 20, 2025 that I missed and based on the message, which was somewhat distorted, it seemed to indicate that I needed to re-register my services and I was to call back but not through my vehicle. When I called ONSTAR back no one seems to know what steps should be taken. I hope this additional information is helpful. Sincerely, Bruce6Views0likes1CommentOn Star module broken
I ahve a 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST and the on star module has failed. There has been no connection since 8/31/24. The dealer has said it is on backorder and no ETA when a new part will arrive. Has anyone even had their on star module replaced if having similar issue? This is very concerning and upsetting as I pay for the subscription and have also paid an annual subscription for wifi that doesn't work. The clocks in my vehicle are all off and am not getting full functionality of the vehicle I paid top dollar for. The car wouldn't start a week ago because it was sending low voltage signals to every system because of the faulty module. Luckily the dealer got it operational again but said they can't just disconnect it because that would cause too many issues. Very very frustrated here....klkenny091724 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor9.9KViews19likes50Comments2025 Suburban - Wifi Hotspot doesn't work
Just bought a 2025 Suburban in February. The Wifi hotspot initially worked but now that my trial has ended and I am just running unlimited data it won't let any devices connect. I contacted support through and they tried multiple times to fix it but have now submitted a ticket to technical support because they couldn't get it to work. Considering the car is only a month old and my previous Chevy never had issues with the hotspot this is very frustrating. Anyone figure out what the issue is? Don't really want to wait 5+ days for support to reach back out.Kristina20402 days agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor308Views0likes14CommentsTelematic Control Module needs replacement, but backordered with no ETA?! UNACCEPTABLE
My 2024 Equinox EV 2RS (Purchased brand new in November '24, only 1,568 miles on to-date) is now in the dealership for the third time due to what was thought to be a 12v battery problem. Turns out, it was a faulty Telematic Control Module that needs replacing, and the dealership that's working on it says GM has no timetable/ETA for the part?! The amount of posts on here reflecting how frequently this is happening should make GM want to have THOUSANDS of these parts on hand for immediate deployment, not arbitrarily informing dealerships, "There's no ETA." I'm a new mom and back to work for the first time since giving birth in October, and being unable to count on a vehicle to simply work is beyond defeating.jamiekmiller6183 days agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor800Views4likes23Comments
