Family Sharing Isn't Working
I have made numerous attempts to share one of my 3 GMC vehicles with my son. The email is received by him, and when he accepts and gets logged in to the GMC app, he doesn't see the vehicle. I also have noticed that the email invite still shows as pending even though he has accepted the invite and has logged into the GMC app. I contacted support who clearly did not understand the issue and told me to call Onstar support from the vehicle. As an 30 year IT professional myself, I know this is software related and I am hoping an Onstar software engineer could help me skip the level 1 helpdesk scripts and take a peek for me on the back end to see why my vehicle info is not connecting to the email address my son is using.ccrichton753 hours agoPlace Technical and Service SupportTechnical and Service SupportNew Contributor40Views0likes5Comments2025 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Not updating in App
Hi, I got a 2025 Chevy Silverado Silverado Trail boss a few weeks ago. Got the vehicle added to my chevy app but it has not updated since i first added it. Ive tried all the steps in these chats. I had been relying on my OnStar messages for diagnostic updates. My 2024 Chevy Trailblazer RS system told me today that I need to get my oil changed soon - took a lot at the maintenance screen and I only had 7% oil life left which is much less than I would have wanted to let it get to. Looking at the app it hasn't updated recently even when I filled up my gas tank. Tried the suggestions with restarts with both app and car but didn't work. I’ve set up my profile preferences in the mychevrolet app to include audio FM radio channels however the radio presets do not show up in my truck in my profile. When I select audio in the truck, the screen blinks and returns to the Home screen. Well there seems to be a rampant issue with the Telematics unit. It's OK that OnStar is off line, but my Chevy App, GPS are also not communicating. How about providing a free WiFi hotspot that would enable the GPS while we are waiting on parts. These units are failing left and right. No wonder the part is back-ordered and the dealer unfortunately has no insight when he will see the part or get this rectified. I spoke to your support team via my cell phone, because on-star does not work, and they tried everything to help. I do appreciate the EV concierge line and all they tried to do. My issue is that there are no parts available even in a large metro area like Atlanta. Every dealer should have 5 or 6 of these things in stock. I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado, bought the thing used awhile back. The WiFi Hotspot has never worked, basically it will allow a device to join but does not actually route to the internet. I have had several other Chevy/GMC trucks where the WiFi/Onstar stuff worked fine, so I know it's possible. I have called onstar several times, today for the forth time to work out this problem. It is always exactly the same thing. Forget the network, leave the truck with the door open for a few minutes, jump through some other hoops. It always ends with, we have to open a ticket for their other support guys and they will call me back to let me know when the problem is fixed. Crickets... NEVER a call back, we have confirmed the call back number every time. From the customer service perspective this is pretty disgusting, make a commitment to a customer and fail to follow up on a service that has been paid for but non-operable. Every time the phone support guys focus on the toggle switch for "Share Hotspot Data" and the fact that it's impossible to toggle on, I'll attach a picture if the forum permits. Anyone know what that does or why it is there? The owners manual says nothing about this toggle. Maybe it's the problem but it makes no sense. Why would anyone want to toggle the ability to route to the Internet (or any other network) if you have already allowed the WiFi connection? Why would you connect in the first place if you didn't intend to go somewhere? Anyway, other network based apps work OK, Pandora, MyGMC, Weather, etc. Some kind of data routing is happening somehow, just not on WiFi. Anyone have any idea how to get WiFi routing to the net? Anyone know what the definition of this toggle switch is? Our Internet went out and so did all of the searches and maps. We called OnStar and were told to take it to the Dealer. We did and were told the OnStar Module is broken. It is on back order. No date was offered for a new one. Is there anyone who can let all of the people on this site know when we can get a new OnStar Module? This car is way too expensive to have an issue like this with no answers on resolving the issue. Unfortunately, my 2025 Yukon Denali keeps giving me nothing but problems. My truck has been without OnStar service for the last 20 days because of DEFECTIVE Telematics module and unfortunately the dealer can only provide the Backorder with no ETA for the modules to become available. This means no OnStar, No emergency support in case of an accident, Super Cruise, Wi-Fi, Entertainment System and a BIG Check Engine light!!! (thanks for the Check Engine Light GMC)!! GMC / Onstar need to step up and provide the parts and service to the customers, this is a not a dealer problem, this is a known quality repetitive issue that must be resolved Immediately. None of my electronic Driver Assist safety features work on my brand new 2024 GMC Denali pick up. These safety features were a major selling point in my decision to purchase this vehicle. I have brought the vehicle back to the dealer several times to have the problem fixed. Finally, I was told that the replacement module needed is not currently available , and that there is no known date for the part to be delivered. It has been three months since the problem began.
