MyGMC app not updating vehicle status since OnStar had to refresh my wifi signal a week ago.
I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 and my vehicle status has not changed since OnStar had to refresh my wifi signal in my truck 7 days ago. I don't know if there are any similarities but the vehicle stopped updating after the refresh. I have already done the power cycle of the truck (run for 2 minutes...off for at least 2 min...sign out of the MyGMC app and back in...have also uninstalled and reinstalled several times). new Blazer eV in 2024. At first, none of the apps worked and the google connection came and went. Called onstar on the day no got the car, was told I had to wait 4-5 business days. I did, level one couldn’t fix it, said i had to wait 4 - 5 business days. I took the car back to the very helpful dealer and got a loaner whilst they dealt with it. eventually got everything except the hotspot working and to be honest I gave up having to deal with a service that calls you back when you may or may not actually be in or near your car. fast forward to the first service, decided to try and get it fixed. Support told dealer to update the software, but that i had to call on start to initiate it. I did, Onstar said the dealer should do it! Dealer is super helpful, so service manager and myself called Onstar together….40 mins later, they determine the update hasn’t worked and raise it to level 2. 4 days later, get the call, they can’t fix it, escalated. Week goes by, I call, they say case has been closed….open it again. Three weeks go by, I call, say it’s been escalated you should have received a call…..all they can do is open a new case, 4-5 days to get a call back. I’m still waiting. who on earth designed a system that the dealer can’t deal with, they call you back at some random time hoping you're near the car, and then it takes 4-5 working days every time they can’t fix it if you’re lucky. So still not working, 18 months after i got the car…still waiting. My 2022 GMC Yukon's OnStar hardware has stopped working after 3 years. After researching this online it looks like alot of GMC's are having this issue. It costs $750-1000 to fix. my 2017 Cadillac XTS luxury I’ve had caddy for four months and I still can’t activate my apps on my Q system and OnStar. I’ve called them five times and I always get support. They say that my plan activated I do connect to the hotspot but I can’t connect to sign in it keeps saying error no service so, I spoke to tier 3 and said can’t access sign in to account told her just bought car. She’s said that it wasn’t active on there end sign privacy report reset system Cue system I’m connected to car WiFi and on star but not activation on there end says going to report it to the higher up says 3to5 days it’s been 3weeks my mobile app shows I’ve got to set up on star even though I’ve got service The app is horrible. They can’t figure out what the deal is. I have a 2023 GMC AT4 1500 with an active OnStar Remote Connection plan. Initially, everything worked perfectly, last April 2023 I had a major engine failure. After 6 weeks at the dealer for an engine replacement, all diagnostics, fuel level, and trip data stopped updating. However, the map and remote functions continue to work with no problem. Here are the troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Updated my iPhone to the latest iOS version to ensure compatibility with the MyGMC app. Deleted and reinstalled the MyGMC app, but the issue persisted. I drive the Truck daily, so the vehicle should transmit data as expected. Confirmed the OnStar light is green on my mirror. My GMC trailer light test functionality appears to have been removed or lost in the most recent update of the app - March 2025. I use this feature frequently. I called OnStar support today 3/9/2025 and they seemed confused regarding this trailer light testing feature. How do I get this trailer light test functionality restored in the app?8likes46Comments
