Onstar in my brand new 2025 Chevrolet Traverse LT is not working even though the light is green.
My OnStar stopped working 6 days ago! I called OnStar support since this is the 3rd time this happens! The first time they were able to trouble shoot the second time it fixed itself. Now this is the 3rd time and the OnStar button is green. I called and they told me the signal was not being received by my vehicle. They tried for over an hour. Even had me go into settings which didn’t work. Now they say I have to go to the dealership to see if they can figure it out! They said my unit might need to be replaced but how!! It’s a brand new vehicle got it with 3 miles on it!

So I literally just got off the phone with Chevy with the same issue on my 2025 Traverse RS. My map is showing me I am in the middle of the ocean. Needless to say my super cruise don’t work and my navigation is useless at this point. Thank goodness for apple play (which they are getting rid of). I was told my OnStar module need to be replaced and it will take 6 weeks for the parts to arrive from a THIRD PARTY. Then they wonder why people prefer to purchase foreign vehicle over American made.
how is it a brand new American made car is having these issues in mass amounts? Then for the part we have to wait so long? Is it coming from China? This is my last American made car. Trading it soon.- Advisor_BrendanModerator

If it is 6 weeks that will be the absolute best outcome I’ve seen. 3 to 6 months is more likely! Best of luck.

Lemon law is 3 times with same issue and not resolved or 30 days at the shop not able to use it. If ether if these apply then likely you have a case. You do not pay for the lawyers. You hire them and GM would be responsible for the lawyers fees in the suit. I got this from a lawyer already so it’s do. I’m trying to compile a list of as many people as I can that’s having the same issues and hopefully many do we can get something done. Same problem, dealer had to replace my onstar module now I have no service from onstar. They have been zero help and just keep passing me to the next department.

Unfortunately, it isn’t easy. My 2025 Buick Enclave had the same issue. Started on July 5, 2025 and resolution was replacing the telematic control module and that was done on October 28th. Car was tied up for many days without any resolution.

Also I was told there was a back order for. 7,500 of these telematic modules with GM.

This exact issue is happening with my '25 RS and Onstar has been no help whatsoever. They promise to call back in 2 or 3 days, five days later I call them. After escalating it twice, they now say I need to take it to the dealership for diagnosis. My appointment is Monday. I'm going to have to rent a car while it's in the shop.

It’s a **bleep** show with GM and OnStar. The telematics units are all broken or malfunctioning. Mine is supposed to be replaced but it’s on back order probably because we are all experiencing the same thing.

I think you're right! My 2024 Camaro infotainment screen goes black/off constantly along with OnStar, Been to dealership 4 times before they told me it's telematics unit, It's actually being installed now, I really hope it fixes it or I'll be forced to exercise NJ lemon law 🍋

This has been going on for weeks in my equinox ev. Being ev I cannot even charge the vehicle properly. Onstar is not helping. I’ve spent hours on the phone with them with no resolution. They have a complete disregard for driver safety. I regret purchasing a vehicle that is required to have onstar. Very frustrating.

The exact same thing just happened to me! 2025 Chevy traverse Z 71. Was just on a road trip and it stopped working! OnStar doesn’t work Google assist does not work super cruise does not work as well as satellite radio for certain channels due to no OnStar signal. I spoke to OnStar. They could not reset it! I’m paying for things and I can’t even use the features! I feel super unsafe as my vehicle cannot be located! I can’t even use the app as the information is incorrect nor can I use the watch app to start the vehicle. What is going on!

Don’t expect Onstar to help you. Advisor Jack is no help. None of these advisors are. Don’t you know when you call them it’s someone in another country. Why should they care about your problems? My Onstar hasn’t worked since December. Needs a new module. Part on backorder and they expect you to pay for it! Onstar says they’ll help, they’ll ask you to give them all this information and tell you in the long run there’s nothing they can do so good luck! Nothing but runaround.

The whole Onstar group needs a recall. My 2023 Silverado has issues. They say there is nothing wrong with my truck, or my account. They just can’t activate my service on my truck. They say it’s on their end. They say it’s going to be 3-5 days to resolve the issue. It was working, then they turned it off, and now they can’t turn it back on. That’s my two cents about Onstar. Kind of worthless. I’m using the hotspot on my phone just so I can use the services or apps in my radio. Ridiculous!

Same thing has happened to me. 2025 Enclave is 5 months old and onstar and WiFi don’t work. The location is stuck in the middle of nowhere. The car was at the dealership and they didn’t think there was a problem. Still doesn’t work.

It finally stopped working enough to not work at the dealership. They had it 4 days trying to do software updates and this and that. They finally ordered a telematic control module, it took a week to get it in and a couple days to replace it. So far it has worked since then. Crossing fingers.

Is it still working? My infotainment screen goes off constantly and they said it was the telematic module also, It's at dealership now being installed, I really hope it fixes it finally
