Climate control removed from app?!

When i purchased my truck a few weeks ago (2025 Silverado 1500 RST) I was able to set my climate temperature remotely from the app but it disappeared within the last week and there seems to be no resolution?

I have followed the troubleshooting steps of uninstalling and reinstalling the app logging out, logging back in resetting the infotainment head unit. Everything else seems to be working as it should except that feature now instead of showing the option to set temperature. It just shows me a timer until my truck shuts off after remote starting.

Its a 3 year plan included that i got when buying my truck new in 2024 for 3 years until 2027 guaranteed the price of the plan was probably tacked on somewhere in the price for the 3 years if this is what they're doing it makes me not even think about possibly then subscribing for it once it's up

I have been told the same thing. The comments almost piss me off. I wish onstar would be transparent with why they removed it. It worked fine for me up until about a month ago. Instead of calling us all liars or pretending like we are idiotic just tell us why. I have been told all the same BS.

It's probably available for the paying customers.  It's a simple feature, any AI app could code it or fix it.  There condescending tone about "how they know how important it is..  blabla bla..." Is disrespectful.

  • Very disappointing, I opened a case with OnStar and just received a call that the feature has been removed.  They have me a BS line that it had to do with my operating system.   The latest Samsung Android OS.  This is terrible service.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing the same thing I am. I’ve contacted GM and was directed towards Onstar. I’ve had several cases with Onstar opened to no resolve. I received an email from a specialist today saying that all though the feature was working before on the app, it wasn’t really working. They also claimed that my vehicle isn’t equipped for remote climate feature. 2025 Sierra Denali’s are definitely equipped! Opened yet another case with Onstar today as well.

The response I received from “ tier 3” on star technician was that while the feature was available to me at the initial purchase of my vehicle it was taken away with an app update because my generation (Gen 11) of vehicle doesn’t get that feature. I explained to the agent that that response was unacceptable and to escalate it further, she stated that was as far as she could escalate it, so I kindly reminded her of millions of followers on my social media platforms and I will be exposing this scam and exposing OnStar and GM together in one of my next videos unless it’s resolved & added back as a feature to vehicles 2023 and up in the next app release.
I don’t allow any company to take advantage of me large or small.
ask me how I got a full refund on a $30k tractor & a free tractor from a manufacturer that refused to acknowledge issues I brought up to them.
I’m giving them a chance to make it right before I expose them for them.

Furthering my research look what I found regarding “Gen 11”

For 2025 and newer GM vehicles (including those with Gen 11 OnStar features), OnStar Basics are standard and include features that can contribute to your comfort:

        • Remote Commands: You can use a mobile app (like myChevrolet or myGMC) to remotely start your vehicle and prepare the cabin for your desired temperature before you even get in. You can also remotely lock/unlock your vehicle and check its status

Probably hoping that we will give up if they tell us it’s not equipped. Using it as an excuse to not want to help or fix.  It most certainly worked the first couple weeks of me owning my truck.
one morning was cold & I set the heat, Latwr that day it was hot so I set the AC. Loved finding that feature.

Just got a call from level 3 tech at OnStar and they’re standing firm on my vehicle not being capable of using feature. So, I’ll be calling GMC again. This doesn’t make sense!
