Remote Start No Longer Allowing to Set Climate Control Temperature
I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500RST
I updated the app today on my iPhone which has the most recent iOS. When I use the app to remotely start my vehicle it no longer allows me to see or set my preferred temperature.
🤒 have restarted my phone and also saw a post recommending that you go to controller la within the app and select vehicle settings to turn on the option to remotely set the temperature. It shows o have an unlimited data plan, allow hotspot access is on and it shows my WiFi name and password. Nothing about setting temperature.
The temperature option was available before the update.
please advise.
thank you so much!

Same issue which I noticed on 5/16 with my 2023 Buick Envision. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app as well as trying all of the other GM apps to log in and set the temp with remote start to no avail. I’ve opened a ticket as well with OnStar so hopefully we get our issues resolved. Glad to know I’m not the only one experiencing this. Definitely an app issue.

Seriously, GMC? You took this feature away? What's wrong with you? Have you lewrned nothing from the debacles of BMW? Taking features away from customers - especially when you somehow think your trucks are worth $80k,is a fool's errand. You'd better put this back. Between this and your crap L87 engines, you sure don't have a good image right now. Why would you voluntarily make it WORSE?! Morons...

Mine has done the same thing so what is the fix for this not a happy chevy silverado 1500 3.0 owner right now and they on star guy i talked to today said that my module was not compatible witch sounds like a bunch of BS to me i mean it was and now it is not WTF

There is no "fix it". GM is a bunch of theiving communists. They charge $80k+ for a vehicle, sell it with options, then disable them after you buy it. Welcome to the new world order and bow to your communist overlords.

I don’t understand why you would be telling someone to that you were going to get it fixed and people are saying to uninstall or reinstall the app. I just got off the phone with customer service and they said that they have turned that function off for right now with the latest update I let them know that I am also very upset at that because I love that feature And we are paying for a service and you give us a new feature and then you take it away.

I have also been affected by missing the ability to control my climate through my app recently. I only purchased my 24 Tahoe vehicle 3 months ago and I actually am loathing this vehicle, which is sad for it's price and lack of features. As much as I'd love to get rid of this vehicle, I'm stuck with it, so the least you can do is bring this feature back.
It's bad enough I have taken it to the dealer twice because the emergency alert and brake feature does not work on the vehicle. It alerts but will not brake. I am about to send a legal letter to GM. My 2019 suburban has more safety features than this new expensive useless vehicle.

I have a 2025 Chevy 1500 LT that was purchased in May 2025. After the latest app update, I also lost the ability to control the temperature settings when utilizing the remote start feature in the app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and still have negative results.

They have permanently at least for now removed the feature according to OnStar when I called them you will not get that back anytime soon. I explain to them how **bleep** stupid that was.

Agree very stupid makes the app obsolete now for me other then for rare niche uses was nice to set the climate cause its still relatively cold where im situated when getting up at 4am for work and then blazing hot when off in the afternoon was nice to be able to control that remotely....

Having the same issues, with locating a command for the temperature adjustment on the app. This is really bad to have removed this, especially with the season change. Worse of all, no communication.
Will this issue be resolved? - BicyNew Contributor
Start the car with the app. Once it starts, tap the start button again and set the temperature.

Nope that dont work for the app only option is turn Vehicle off like in picture.

Ok, All. Do this.
Start the truck remotely with the app. Once it starts, tap the start button once. Select the desired temperature- bradleyjohnstonNew Contributor II
The control for that isnt there doing that! Trust me and others have tried that.
