No internet connection! Help!
I can connect to my wifi but there is no internet connection. Onstar has pushed updates, reconfigured what they could, and said to go to the dealership. The dealership said everything is good on their side so it’s an onstar issue. I’ve also tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect with no luck. Are there any other tips I can try?? I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado, bought the thing used awhile back. The WiFi Hotspot has never worked, basically it will allow a device to join but does not actually route to the internet. I have had several other Chevy/GMC trucks where the WiFi/Onstar stuff worked fine, so I know it's possible. I have called onstar several times, today for the forth time to work out this problem. It is always exactly the same thing. Forget the network, leave the truck with the door open for a few minutes, jump through some other hoops. It always ends with, we have to open a ticket for their other support guys and they will call me back to let me know when the problem is fixed. Crickets... NEVER a call back, we have confirmed the call back number every time. From the customer service perspective this is pretty disgusting, make a commitment to a customer and fail to follow up on a service that has been paid for but non-operable. Every time the phone support guys focus on the toggle switch for "Share Hotspot Data" and the fact that it's impossible to toggle on, I'll attach a picture if the forum permits. Anyone know what that does or why it is there? The owners manual says nothing about this toggle. Maybe it's the problem but it makes no sense. Why would anyone want to toggle the ability to route to the Internet (or any other network) if you have already allowed the WiFi connection? Why would you connect in the first place if you didn't intend to go somewhere? Anyway, other network based apps work OK, Pandora, MyGMC, Weather, etc. Some kind of data routing is happening somehow, just not on WiFi. Anyone have any idea how to get WiFi routing to the net? Anyone know what the definition of this toggle switch is? Anyone know how to get past the first line guys and talk to someone who knows something?Wifi connected with no internet
Same issue......onstar sent numerous signals to vehicle with no luck. Was told to go to dealer, dealer says system is ok that it is an onstar issue. I even signed up for the unlimited data plan thinking that may have been an issue.....still not working......have had many GM vehicles over the years and never an issue......very frustrating!Wifi on but ‘not connected to internet’
My credit card on file expired at the end of January. As soon as the card declined my hotspot in my vehicle stopped working. I called and updated the card and still no internet. I’ve spent hours on a call with OnStar. They’ve sent signals, rebooted, more signals. My OnStar light is green, everything looks good on their end, but no service on mine. any ideas on how to fix this?
How do I manage my OnStar account?
There are a couple of ways to manage your OnStar account. The easiest is to visit the Owner Center online, where you can set up an account, tie your existing OnStar plan to an account and so much more. If you need help finding your OnStar account number, you can simply push the blue OnStar button inside your vehicle, call 1.888.4ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827) or check your printed Member card. I use a routine on my Alexa device to open my garage door and start my vehicle daily while getting ready to leave for work. Within the last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting prompted for my PIN to start my vehicle, and getting a message from Alexa that it couldn't connect to My Chevrolet. This has happened before and I would just have to re-link my account in the Alexa app. When I tried to do that, it appears that the My Chevrolet skill is no longer available on Alexa. Has it changed to something else?
