No internet connection! Help!
I can connect to my wifi but there is no internet connection. Onstar has pushed updates, reconfigured what they could, and said to go to the dealership. The dealership said everything is good on their side so it’s an onstar issue. I’ve also tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect with no luck. Are there any other tips I can try?? I use a routine on my Alexa device to open my garage door and start my vehicle daily while getting ready to leave for work. Within the last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting prompted for my PIN to start my vehicle, and getting a message from Alexa that it couldn't connect to My Chevrolet. This has happened before and I would just have to re-link my account in the Alexa app. When I tried to do that, it appears that the My Chevrolet skill is no longer available on Alexa. I have a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali that I had to take in for a dealer for them to tell me the OnStar Module needed replaced. My vehicle is over the 36,000 miles so they quoted me close to $750 to fix it. This $80k truck is only a year and a half old! Mileage should have nothing to do with this part. How is this not something that is covered by GM and/or OnStar? Especially after reading about so many other brand new trucks having this issue.On Star module broken
I ahve a 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST and the on star module has failed. There has been no connection since 8/31/24. The dealer has said it is on backorder and no ETA when a new part will arrive. Has anyone even had their on star module replaced if having similar issue? This is very concerning and upsetting as I pay for the subscription and have also paid an annual subscription for wifi that doesn't work. The clocks in my vehicle are all off and am not getting full functionality of the vehicle I paid top dollar for. The car wouldn't start a week ago because it was sending low voltage signals to every system because of the faulty module. Luckily the dealer got it operational again but said they can't just disconnect it because that would cause too many issues. Very very frustrated here....WiFi Hotspot, No Connection to Internet
I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado, bought the thing used awhile back. The WiFi Hotspot has never worked, basically it will allow a device to join but does not actually route to the internet. I have had several other Chevy/GMC trucks where the WiFi/Onstar stuff worked fine, so I know it's possible. I have called onstar several times, today for the forth time to work out this problem. It is always exactly the same thing. Forget the network, leave the truck with the door open for a few minutes, jump through some other hoops. It always ends with, we have to open a ticket for their other support guys and they will call me back to let me know when the problem is fixed. Crickets... NEVER a call back, we have confirmed the call back number every time. From the customer service perspective this is pretty disgusting, make a commitment to a customer and fail to follow up on a service that has been paid for but non-operable. Every time the phone support guys focus on the toggle switch for "Share Hotspot Data" and the fact that it's impossible to toggle on, I'll attach a picture if the forum permits. Anyone know what that does or why it is there? The owners manual says nothing about this toggle. Maybe it's the problem but it makes no sense. Why would anyone want to toggle the ability to route to the Internet (or any other network) if you have already allowed the WiFi connection? Why would you connect in the first place if you didn't intend to go somewhere? Anyway, other network based apps work OK, Pandora, MyGMC, Weather, etc. Some kind of data routing is happening somehow, just not on WiFi. Anyone have any idea how to get WiFi routing to the net? Anyone know what the definition of this toggle switch is? Anyone know how to get past the first line guys and talk to someone who knows something?Onstar Module Replacement ETA?
2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Carbon Pro Bought with 10,000 miles. Have had it in service multiple times. Now the onstar module is out and has been for over 3 months. Dealership said it is on backorder. I bought this truck because it had the functions I need in order to drive safely as I have some disabilities. I am paying for a truck that most of the reasons I purchased the vehicle do not function. I am very disappointed in the level of service GMC has provided to their customers. What is the solution for this issue? Do customers receive any compensation for all of the time they are waiting for a new part? This is a safety issue for customers. I would think GMC would make this a high priority and let customers know the ETA to receive a new part, etc. This isn't the only problem I have had with my vehicle and it is very frustrating and disappointing. I am paying for a product that repeatedly has to go to the dealership for service and some of the most important features so not work and it affects my driving as well as my safety.None of my Driver Assist features work on my brand new 2024 GMC Denali pick up
None of my electronic Driver Assist safety features work on my brand new 2024 GMC Denali pick up. These safety features were a major selling point in my decision to purchase this vehicle. I have brought the vehicle back to the dealer several times to have the problem fixed. Finally, I was told that the replacement module needed is not currently available , and that there is no known date for the part to be delivered. It has been three months since the problem began. How many other car and truck owners are experiencing this issue and what is being done by GMC to resolve this problem ?Wifi connected with no internet
Same issue......onstar sent numerous signals to vehicle with no luck. Was told to go to dealer, dealer says system is ok that it is an onstar issue. I even signed up for the unlimited data plan thinking that may have been an issue.....still not working......have had many GM vehicles over the years and never an issue......very frustrating!OnStar Module
I have a 2022 Escalade Sport Platinum and the on star/wifi/app completely stopped working in January 2024. I took the vehicle to my local Cadillac dealership and they told me the OnStar Module has to be replaced and that the part is currently on backorder with no update on when the part will be in. It has been 3 months since the module has stopped working and there has been no update on when I will get this replaced. I do not understand how GM is able to continue build cars with these modules but aren't able to replace them when they go bad. It is an inconvenience having the OnStar option and paying the monthly subscription without having the ability to use it.
